Influence | Ghostwriter
Why is it that authors have influence?
For thousands of years, authors and thinkers have created ideas, put them into books and spread them throughout the culture from city to city, and country to country, changing lives.
Some of these ideas have sprouted into movements. Some become best sellers.
As a thinker, and catalyst to great minds,
I am a connector of ideas.
Most of my clients call me their “muse” or igniter, but my mission, is clear.
My mission is to equip world changers.
What are you going to do in 2015 that’s going to help drive even better results
for your customers, your business and for you?
Madness is always doing what we always did, and expecting different results,
let alone better results.
If you want to achieve different results, better results, then you’re going to
have to do something different, something better, otherwise the results are
going to remain the same, and in our ever changing world, staying the same
is the same as going backwards.
When I first set out to write a new book about my FAST strategy for leaders, I
contacted Tammy because I know that she has been working with leaders for
the past decade and I wanted to get her opinion on FAST. She loved it, and
told me it could be bigger than Good to Great, and that she thought that
corporate leaders would love it too.
FAST is an approach I have defined based on over 20 years experience of
turning round failing projects, underperforming departments, and FAST works
because it eliminates many of the common causes of failure.
FAST is easy to understand, pragmatic and gets our teams engaged in doing
the right job, which then their increases effectiveness. Once we have them
doing the right job, then we can then focus on getting them to do a good job,
one which will increase their over all efficiency.
Too often people focus on efficiency first, but if our teams are working on the
wrong things it doesn’t matter how efficient they are, all this good effort is just
wasted. It’s like tires spinning in the mud, it doesn’t matter how fast they spin,
if there is no traction and then there is no real progress.
By having our teams doing the right job, and a good job FAST ensure that we
are both effective and efficient, and this is a recipe for excellent results.

When I wrote my first book, it was after a season of trying to figure out the meaning of life. I had just worked a very important job in crisis management for a major airline, and it involved negotiating, talking to families who had just suffered tragedy, and managing the schedules and emotions of hundreds of lost and broken people.
I was thrust into the center of the tornado, yet
It felt as if I was in my comfort zone. I grew up longing to know my father, who committed suicide when I was seven. The discomfort felt like my comfort zone.
Yet after that, when I flew back to the United States, I discovered that I longed for more. As I sat in the company meetings afterwards, I realized I wanted to do something that would change lives. I started writing and When I wrote that first book, I never knew how much we would give back as a company. Today my company, OnFire Books, does book drops for underprivileged children, homeless children, and even adults. We give books, journals, and other goodies away and a backpack designed to focus people on healing through the power of words.
In my Ted talk I said that words are currency. And that is certainly true. No matter who you are, your words have power. Your life and your business is a legacy. What can you teach others about living life as a success, with a positive mindset?
How can you teach others, that anything is possible and that they can achieve the same things you did?
Being an entrepreneur involves giving back. Every step of the way we have the opportunity to mentor, mold, and grow others. I hope to be a role model and inspiration not only for my own sons, but for anyone else who comes into contact with me. Here’s three ways to design a business that keeps on giving back.
#1: Focus on your passion
Don’t try to do things that are not authentic. It won’t work because you’ll lose your interest for it.
#2. Focus on building a life not building a business
Remember that your business earns money to fund your life. Once you focus on building a life, you think of all the ways that you want to live. Some people focus on freedom and think that being an entrepreneur brings freedom. But that’s not true. Sometimes freedom comes in the form of a steady paycheck. Being an entrepreneur involves hard work, and erotic hours. Make sure that’s what you’re signing up for and go ahead and live your dream
#3. Just do it
Don’t quit your day job. Just go ahead and start on your dream. There’s plenty of hours in the day before bedtime. And there’s plenty of hours in the night. If you truly are passionate about something, just do it. And make sure you incorporate Waze that your new business will change lives. If you already have an existing business, make a list of how you could give back to others in order to teach them how to do what you did or to change lives.
THIS is what everyone wants.
When a client asks me to help coach them through their book, inevitably they ask about how they can get on the New York Times bestseller’s list.
Of course it’s achievable, and we did it for this client, who is a physician focused on total health and prevention.
I was the ghost writer, I loved working with him because I learned so much about health (did you know that 90% of cardiovascular disease is preventable?) and this book was an instant bestseller.
But why focus on America only?
And not just America, but a tiny city compared to the world. Because the world is much bigger than New York.
THIS is what I coach my clients through.
Italy, Germany, France, Israel, Latin America, and beyond.
Today more than ever before, your business and life is global. We are all mobilepreneurs with mobile devices that can except and send payment for services and products, no matter where we are.
This year I’ll be bringing clients to the London book fair and introducing them to global publishers. I’ll be writing books on several continents for world changers with operations, and staff on the ground in several countries. I’ll be writing a book for the CEO of feeding children everywhere, and other humanitarian organizations and save lives.
Don’t think just local anymore. There’s no reason to. There is someone who needs you and your message, on the other side of the planet.
